The Movie rejoice! In addition to the Canadian Blu-Ray release later this month, the video-by-mail giant Netflix is also making the movie available for its members as one of its "Watch Instantly" collection.
Displayed on the front page is a posting that the actress who portrayed wonder woman and catwoman in the newest installment to the mk franchise is supposed to be playing the one and only Princess Kitana, or so the statement taken from Brenda Barrie's website.
Apparently she had listed the work she had done in the past, which includes the mortal kombat franchise itself, and "apparently" she may have mentioned information on this a little too early so that bit is now taken off of her website.
I have attached 2 images one of the information for possible confirmation of the actress portraying the princess, and the second one showing the work taken off of the site, so it's very possible this was indeed the case for the change in new information. Either way, it seems pretty legit, and it's very possible, even dare I say it - safe to say we can see the 10,000 + year old (now considering she was this old from her first introduction in mortal kombat 2) Princess back for more but kicking action.

Though Mortal Kombat has changed owners, Threshold Entertainment, the company involved with the production of both MK films, still claims their rights to the name. Threshold fild a lawsuit against Warner Bros. because they breached a contract.
As this article further (and better) explains:
The "Mortal Kombat" movie franchise is in legal limbo after a breach-of-contract lawsuit was filed against Warner Bros., which reportedly is developing a third film based on the once wildly popular video game. Threshold Entertainment Inc. filed the action Tuesday in Los Angeles, claiming Warners had shut it out of production of the martial arts movie, in which it owns a licensing interest.
In the early 1990s, Threshold had entered into a partnership with arcade-game developer Midway to develop "Mortal Kombat" into a variety of media, including two feature films.
The lawsuit states that Threshold and Midway entered into an additional contract in 2006 to develop a third "Kombat" movie, including script development and pre-production.
But Midway filed for bankruptcy last February, and Warners successfully bid on its properties. Threshold says a federal bankruptcy court upheld its interests and licenses as a part of the sale.
The lawsuit states that Warners has "failed to work with Threshold in the development and production of the third 'Mortal Kombat' film," and has avoided communication with the Connecticut-based company, which has offices in Santa Monica. In late January, reports surfaced that a "Mortal Kombat" reboot by Warners was under way, including the hiring of a new screenwriter.
Damages are to be ascertained later, the lawsuit states.
